We can’t even give you her photograph,� said Shailaja’s father G Rama Thirtha Rao.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="" font-weight:="" bold="">Rao, a deputy director of mines based in Guntur, said his daughter would wed Laxman at Imperial Gardens in Sikh village, Secunderabad, on February 15. </span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="" font-weight:="" bold="">It is learnt that before her marriage was settled with Laxman, Shailaja rejected an <a href="http://www.thetimesofindia.online/articleshow/434809.cms">alliance</a> from an NRI suitor in the US. </span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="" font-weight:="" bold="">“Our families are closely related and the proposal materialised about six months ago,� Rao said. The engagement last month was such a private affair that no one got to know about it.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="" font-weight:="" bold="">MCA student Shailaja’s interest in cricket, her father said, is no different from that of any other youngster, but her focus has been on Laxman only since the tour Down Under. </span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="" font-weight:="" bold="">According to groom’s father Dr V Shantaram, Shailaja is so overjoyed with Laxman’s exploits that every time he comes up with a good knock, she calls them up. </span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="" font-weight:="" bold="">“She has been speaking to Laxman’s mother regularly and the calls became frequent what with the boy coming up with one good knock after another,� joked Shantaram, a retired professor of medicine.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="" font-weight:="" bold="">Apart from Laxman’s determination, self-confidence and positive attitude, his alliance with Shailaja also seems to be having a favourable influence on his prime form, Shantaram said. “I am sure the fact that my son found his life-partner just before the tour to Australia has acted as a stimulus.� </span><br /><br /><span style="" font-size:="" font-weight:="" bold=""><formid=367815></formid=367815></span></div> </div>
